Driftwood

Follow the breadcrumbs of life and turn thoughts of comparison into signs of abundance.

All too often, when we see others accomplishing our goals our first train of thought is envy, perhaps even anger, followed by disappointment.

Why them and not me?

When we sit in a place of comparison, we are filled with feelings of frustration, inadequacy, self-doubt, judgment, and criticism. These counterproductive emotions keep us in a very low vibration and create resistance.

However, when we reframe our observations of others as signals that we are actually on the right track, that seeing success in others means our desires are moving closer to fruition and abundance is right around the corner, we raise our vibration to a point of attraction.

And how can we do this? Gratitude. We can feel joy for others’ achievements. We can celebrate them!

In the teachings of Abraham-Hicks, driftwood is a metaphor for positive signs that your desires are getting closer to you. When you see your wants reflected back to you, this is an indicator to practice appreciation and embody the feeling of your goals manifesting.

As Wayne Dyer put it, “You’ll see it when you believe it”.

Say you are looking for a romantic partner, and all of your friends seem to be finding love. When you go out, you notice couples embracing and holding hands, and you think, everyone has found love except me. Turn that around. When you see others in loving relationships, use that as a sign that a loving relationship is getting nearer.

Or perhaps you’re out of work or going through a career change, and yet all around you, your peers and colleagues seem to be doing well, receiving promotions, working at their dream jobs, and enjoying financial freedom. Great! When you see success in those around you, take it as a sign that success is coming your way too.

This gentle adjustment in perspective from envy to appreciation shifts you from a mindset of lack to one of abundance. It’s similar to the classic “glass half full or half empty” concept. Rather than focusing on what you do not have or what is not working, try seeing the little signs all around you of what’s to come. Follow the driftwood, and the possibilities will begin to unfold.

Approaching life from a grounded and grateful place of allowing, rather than a judgmental and closed-off place of resistance, opens you up to receive.

Celebrate the success and joy of others, and make sure that your glass is always half full.

Affirmation: I see the driftwood, and I know my desire is on its way!
